The Madhubani Handpainted Yellow Cotton Linen Saree is one of our Best Picks, the theme of the famous three  - day festival known as CHHATH PUJA. CHHATH is an ancient Hindu Vedic festival historically native to the Indian Subcontinent, more specifically, the Indian States of Bihar and Jharkhand . The festival is dedicated to worship Lord Surya (The Sun Diety). "Chhathi Maiyya" is the mother goddess who provides strength and support to the devotees. She is worshipped as the "Goddess of the Festival". The Sun is offered Arghya (a special type of offering in which milk and water is used).

In this saree, the whole process of offering arghya to the Sun is depicted in the aanchal  with vibrant colours where you can see a Rising Sun,  women worshiping with diyas and offering fruits and thekuaas as prasad kept in a bamboo Suup along with banana and sugarcane trees are on he either  sides. 

Beautiful and colourful lotus madhubani flowers have been made on borders along with floral buttis.
